Awards
Nentico Lodge has awards that Arrowmen in the lodge can apply for by completing listed requirements and turning the application in to the Lodge Chief. These awards serve to recognize Arrowmen and units who give back to the lodge in various ways that may not always be noticed.
Information on awards selected by committees from nominations, meaning the Founder’s Award and George Naylor Award, is listed on the History page.
Ceremonialist Award
The Ceremonialist Award recognizes Arrowmen who dedicate a significant amount of their time to provide a meaningful ceremonial and induction experience for their fellow Brothers.
To receive the award, Arrowmen must be active on a Ceremonies Team, serve as a ceremonialist in a principal role, and complete other related requirements.
Elangomat Award
The Elangomat Award recognizes Arrowmen who give freely of their time by serving as an Elangomat for Candidates during their Ordeal. “Elangomat” is the Lenni-Lenape word for “friend,” so an Arrowman who receives this award will embody that word in some way for each Candidate that they serve.
To receive the award, Arrowmen must serve as an Elangomat for at least two Ordeals within one calendar year.
James A. Mitchell Award
The James A. Mitchell Award recognizes new youth Arrowmen who have made a conscious effort to participate fully in the life of the Lodge and their Chapter after being inducted. Earning the James A. Mitchell Award is a great way for new Arrowmen to meet new people and explore all the lodge has to offer.
To receive the award, Arrowmen must complete their Brotherhood, stay active in their unit, attend lodge and chapter meetings, and complete other related requirements within one year of their Ordeal date.
Nentico Camping Award
The Nentico Camping Award recognizes units that make year-round camping and supporting the Lodge a priority in their unit’s program.
To earn the award, a unit must attend summer camp, go on at least seven camping trips in a year (including a winter campout), have an active OA Representative, and complete other related requirements.
