Our History

A Century of Service

Founded on May 17th, 1922, Nentico Lodge is the oldest unmerged lodge in the Order of the Arrow. Originally located at Camp Linstead in Severna Park, MD, the lodge moved to its current home camp of Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation in Whiteford, MD in 1948.

Nentico derives its name from the Nanticokes, a tribe of the Delawares. The Nanticokes broke off from the main tribe of the Delawares and migrated south into Maryland and Virginia to establish their own territory and villages. Camp Linstead was located in an area once inhabited by the Nanticokes.

The lodge’s totem is a golden eagle with outstretched wings, representative of strength and unity of purpose. The lodge’s colors are red, white, and yellow.

Lodge Leadership

Nentico Lodge is led by a Lodge Chief with five supporting Vice Chiefs. Since 1922, hundreds of youth have guided and molded our lodge into what it is today.
